Creative Work
Thin, light, shiny and robust. Above is a picture of a solar powered vehicle I made with a hand made aluminium chassis. The chassis is angled so that the solar panel may collect as much sunlight as possible. It also takes advantage of a simple swivel system made using pop rivets and aluminium metal to allow the angle of the solar panel to be adjusted when required. It is a creative alternative to wooden bodies.
Great Piece of Architecture
Gardens by the Bay in Singapore is a great piece of architecture that not only promotes the conservation of plants but also celebrates their natural beauty. It is made up of "Supertrees" that house a variety of plants and two main conservatories that are big yet low lying. The architects intent is for the buildings to morph into the naturally flat landscape, creating the illusion of hills in the landscape from a distance.
Original Photograph
The picture above was taken in Korea of a Japanese maple plant in a palace. What makes this plant unique and interesting is the shape and arrangement of the leaves as well as its bright orangey-red colour. In addition, the contrast between the bright leaves and the dark tree bark makes the picture even more palatable to the eye.
